Schools Cross-Country Program

Newstead Athletics is excited to announce that we will once again run our school cross-country series and invite all students and schools to participate.

Cross Country events provide an inclusive and social environment for everyone to improve their physical fitness, whether as a sole sport or in addition to other sports.  In addition, the series provides a great opportunity for athletes preparing for the Launceston Running Festival and school, regional and state cross country events.

Students can represent their school either individually or as a team over several cross-country races. Events are open to all grades, both primary and secondary up to grade 12, regardless of ability. Students earn points through participating in races throughout the series, with medals awarded at the end of the series to the highest scoring male and female individuals and teams in each age group.

The series consists of six races, conducted on Saturdays from 1pm: Details will appear here once finalised.
