Run With Us
We are excited to bring you our winter cross-country season. This page is your one-stop shop for everything you need for the season. We look forward to seeing you at our events.
How to be part of our cross-country competition
1. Club Registration
- All athletes must be registered with our club or another Athletics Tasmania club, including Masters Tasmania, prior to running. New athletes are permitted to run once without registration.
- Returning athletes must be registered prior to your first event.
- If you currently have a full Athletics Tasmania (AT) membership (i.e. Track & Field as of September/October), you are already registered.
- If you are only interested in participating in cross country or out of stadia events you will require an Out of Stadium Registration. Registration is $55 or Junior registration (5 to 9 years) is $30.
- If you are registered with another AT club you can either transfer to Newstead Athletics free of charge (more information) OR pay a dual membership fee of $30.
- Volunteer Registration: All volunteers require a current Working With Vulnerable People registration and are also required to complete a (free) volunteer registration with the club, so you and the club are fully covered with our insurance.
2. Event Registration
- Athletes must be registered for each week’s event. This can either be done using a bulk or weekly registration either online or at events.
- Bulk Registration – $50, automatically registers athletes into every race throughout the season, and school aged athletes are automatically registered for our yearly Schools Competition. Bulk registration provides a $10 saving over weekly event registration for the season (as well as the effort of entering each week).
- Weekly Online Registration – $3, must be made prior to 4pm on the Friday before each event. Registrations after this time must be made on the day using the option below.
- On the day, Weekly, Registrations – $5, on the day registrations will close 15 minutes before the start of the events to allow time for handicaps to finalised. Both cash and card payments are accepted.
- Where possible we encourage athletes to register using our online system prior to the event.
For anyone unable to pay or register online please contact the club prior to your first event to arrange payment. If registering for the Bulk Event Registration both Club Registration and Bulk Event Registration are expected as a single payment at your first event.
- Our one-page calendar is available here. Course information for each event can be found on the right-hand side of the page.
- More Information on how our cross-country season and handicapping works can be found here.
