15 May 2019

After 2 consecutive second place events, scholarship recipient Benjamin Findlay finally broke through for a win in the handicapped Newstead Athletics Division One race at Carrick park on Saturday. Findlay raced strongly finishing well over a minute before second place Tony Brazendale. Laxman Balisampangrai was fastest in the event with an impressive time of 21.53 for the 6km course. Its not too late to join the school series competition with our next event this Saturday at Hagley Farm Primary School.

Other club results on the day included a win to Alexander Wood in the Division 2 competition and Ben Berlese in the Division 3 competition.

Week 6 - Carrick Park - Club Results

Results for the Club are now online (School series and Northern all Schools hopefully tomorrow)

Reminder on how a sealed handicap works. We take your actual time and add it to you handicap time to get your race time if it had been a normal handicap. So even if you come last, because its a sealed handicap you could actually win the race .

How we calculate your handicap time, is in your booklet and on the web site under the top menu called Documents and Policies. And if you are confused Mick is happy to explain one on one if you prefer.

This Saturday we will be at Hagley Farm School, convenient if you have to vote as there will be a polling booth there. Hagley P&F will be selling BBQ and drinks and Swirlies Icecream are trying to get there too.
